The
town of Certaldo is at the centre of the triangle formed
by the three Tuscan cities of greatest cultural historical
and artistic interest: Florence (40 km), Siena (35 km) and
Pisa (55 km).
You can reach Certaldo either by rail (on
the Florence-Siena line) or by car along various arterial
and provincial roads. The town is well-connected to San-Gimignano
(9 km), San Miniato (25 km) and Volterra (50 km).
The nearest airports are “Galileo Galilei” airport
in Pisa and Florence airport.
Certaldo Alto is connected to the lower part
of the town by an automatic funicular railway which leaves
from Piazza Boccaccio and arrives at the beginning of Via
Boccaccio. Certaldo can be reached also by driving along
Via del Castello or else along the strada panoramica that
leads to the parking area behind the town walls.
